The Waistcoat Collection
This Waistcoat collection comes with four different front designs that can all be attached to the same back. You can then customise your make with a choice of pocket designs and optional collars. This is an intermediate sewing pattern that can be simplified for less experienced sewers or beefed for the more adventurous garment maker. Graded in sizes 38”-54”.
Fabrics: Wool (woven, boiled or felted) velvet, corduroy, denim, linen, cotton, silk, satin or brocade.
Back fabric : Silk, satin, sateen, cotton, linen, other lining fabrics or matching fabric to the fronts.
Inner lining : Silk, satin, sateen, cotton, or similar lining type fabrics.
Tools : Turning tool, iron, pressing mat, seam poker.
Seam allowance on main body 1.5cm. Check pattern for seam allowance on pocket construction.
Option 1
This option has a high break with option for a shawl collar, five button closure and optional watch chain button hole. Front darts for fit and a gentle curve into the points at the waistcoat front hem. Two straight pockets marked to pattern.
Option 2
This option has a mid break with option for a wide shawl collar and five button closure. Front darts for fit and large points to the front hem. Two straight pockets marked to pattern.
Option 3
This option has a mid break with scoop neck design and an option for a mid width shawl collar. Six button closure spaced out in groups of two and optional watch chain button hole. Front darts for fit and a medium sized points to the front hem. Angled welt pockets marked to pattern.
Option 4
This option has a low break with optional narrow shawl collar. Five button closure, with front darts for fit and medium sized points to the front hem. Four straight pockets marked to pattern.
